It was such a privilege to capture such a special time in a special friend's life, and it was lovely to capture the progression from the pregnancy announcement to just before the due date.

Every maternity journey is different, and it's important to stay comfortable during the shoot:

  • between 30 and 35 weeks is ideal in case baby decides to arrive early
  • stay hydrated (keep a bottle of water handy)
  • bring a jacket to wear in between photo's
  • make sure to wear sunblock if the shoot is outdoors
  • wear comfortable shoes and clothes
  • let me know if you are tiring out or need a break
  • most importantly, have fun!

Pregancy Announcement

White lacy vintage shawl displayed between trees with natural outdoor backdrop.

We set out on a windy afternoon in late 2022 to take these announcement photo's- the cold weather had already started to set in and it was important to throw on the jackets in between photo sets!

A few months down the line in February, we headed off on (another) cold day to capture these special memories just before baby was born. Thankfully, the rain held off long enough to get some amazing photo's of the mamma-to-be!

The cherry blossoms were in bloom, the sun was out and this was a lovely reminder of new life!
